« on: February 06, 2017, 09:26:01 am »
A client has asked me to do a car interior not done one before has anyone got any recommendations or tips my thoughts where prespray with a citrus apc
Agitate then extract with prochem crystal green or fabric & fibre rinse (what have available and other prochem chems)  also headlining im assuming extraction would be too powerfull have do by hand???

Cheers in advance guys

Easy to do but hard work on your body just with the angles involved. Car interios are all hardwearing manmade materials so you can hit them with anything. Headling can be extracted if dirty if not just towel it.

I used to do car interiors, but very few people were happy to pay for the time it took to do them.

hard work on your body, like John stated and back pain for me ( i'm tall ). Never understood how people in carwash work so cheap. Took me 3.5 to 4 houres an average car.

as above, I always advise customers to go to an auto valeting company

If your going to do it make sure you know exactly what they want doing.......I tell them  seat fabric and carpets only.
I encap them to get the drying time down and they come up good.
Just got to be careful with the overspray.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

be carefull with headlining some can be very problematic if you get them wet.......... or even damp!
you need paint brushes in various sizes for the dash vents etc etc tbh a car interior, done properly can take a long time.
there is a lot to it if you are doing it properly.  There arent many customers who will pay a decent price for the time it takes
to do a proper job in my opinion. I did valeting/detailing for about 25 years prior to starting up doing carpets, much better return
for your work in my opinion. I still get calls to do car upholstery but just dont bother with it. They can go down the local hand wash and get an interior valeted for about £20 quid or less, when you tell em you want about £80/£90 guess where they go....... they dont get the same job, bit of back to black sprayed here and there, quick wet vac with the george and then some bubble gum air fresh sprayed in.........    not really a proper clean i dont think!!!
