What year is your van?

If it has been recalled and they never informed you surely they are liable for the repair?

Daz has a Connect with the 1.8 engine, either Tdci or Tddi.

Even if there was a recall I doubt Ford would accept responsibility as Daz drove his with the oil pressure light on. Had he stopped immediately then there would have been no damage done to the engine and they would have replaced the oil pump under the terms of their recall.

He can't even claim that had he stopped at the moment his oil pressure light came his life would have been in danger so decided to get to a place of safety.

Here's a section copied from VW's Warranty T&Cs.

Types of damage not covered by warranty includes, but are not limited to:

Damage caused by your failure to take all reasonable steps to prevent mechanical damage from occurring, for example, taking appropriate action in the event of warning lights appearing.

 ;D

Neither have I.

I still think the best was the photos of his tangled hose after running hot water through it.

I saw you hadn't commented on the post so I wasn't 100% sure
