I heard  450 RO dosent really produce more pure per hour,        am i wrong.       anyone changed from a 300  to a 450.      was there much noticeable differene

I went from a 300 to a 400gpd from vyair .
I used to have my 300 running 10-12 hours a day to produce 350ltrs .
I now run my 400gpd for 3.5 - 4hrs a day to produce the same , I was advised to get the 400 instead of a 40/40 because my tap flow is pretty weak, they were right! I'm producing more than enough for myself now

Gardiners do a 500 which is only one memrane, brill.

Get a 40x40 my water goes through 2 pre filters and comes out of RO at 002 I have an HF5 membrane.

im going to think seriously about the 4040 RO  after the new year,     start my new year in 2017 with a good attitude regarding getting my set-up to the best i can,        Hopefully get out of my kitchen producing my pure atm,  but if a 400 /450 RO is a lot more productive  i may try this before getting a 4040,

With my 300 ro  it used to take 3-3 1/2 hours to get 220 litres with a booster pump.
ATM its taking around 5-6 hours.     must be the colder climate

I get that reading with water pressure of no higher than 40psi water in is around 270ish

Ive not used the lower gpd RO, but i use a purefreedom 450gpd. My tap is around 280 ish (from memory), by end of prefilters my tap pressure is about 34ish. But i use a booster pump taking it to 70 and i fill into an 1000ltr ibc tank which i transfer into 500ltr tank in van, or top up etc.
To fill my ibc tank from empty, takes around a day n half, around 36hrs ish.

Yeah , it actually comes as a complete unit -2 booster pumps - pretty smart really . I fill my 1000ltr ibc up and it takes about 10 hours

Nathan,   how long do you leave your booster pump on,       surelly not 10 hours,    when & if i get a tap fitted going into my front shed space id be able to leave RO on all night without worrying about any leakeages occuring in kithen.     Sh-t  does happen when your not expecting it.
This is why a 4040 RO in van  is a bit daunting as its a new stup to get used to,     A 300 / 450 RO is so easy to manage.
I suppose a 4040 RO would be the same       just the membranes are a bit more expensive.

my outhouse is facing front door,     but my drain is under my kitchen window, making it awkward getting waste water away.?

any ideas if you were in my position,

Round the outside of patio or garden against fence into drain you'll need a drain if you drain it straight out into the garden in a few years you'll get a sink hole lol

The RO unit comes with 2 booster pumps , it's all together nice and neat in a compact unit and then the DI vessel separate .
You can only run it for 4 hours at a time and then it needs to be switched off for 30 mins - I think so the booster pump can chill out for a bit .
I had virtually the same set up as you , took forever to produce water especially in the autumn/ winter months. Now I run it for 4 hrs to top the ibc up and I'm done !
I would defo recommend getting an ibc aswell , there not expensive and once it's full ( depending on how much water you use) you don't even have to put your RO on for a day or so
