Do you do such a thing as a metal insert for your pole end caps?
I find the rubber wears very quickly on mine

Hi Trippyboy

We do not  do anything like this. Perhaps a large penny washer would suffice?

Of course if the pole hose is running past a metal edge then it will probably wear the hose out more quickly.

I use these from Pure freedom.

Choose the one closest in size to your pole diameter and obviously slightly larger. Then use electrical tape to create a tight fit.
They also protect your hose when standing your pole up. I will just say I'm using PU hose, not the reinforced type.

Cheers, just ordered a couple. I normally use rubber ones they've lasted for years, think I got them off that Tekbook chap yonks ago. Gardiners ones seem a harder plastic and don't last five minutes, but they don't cost much.

You can use Polymorph to easily make your own. Amazing stuff for all kinds of uses. Check out Polymorph on google, buy it on ebay.

I still got all my original Base caps on the 5 poles I had from Alex even a slx as it's original cap the two extremes I use still have theres in tacked an clx 18 my Mrs uses is intact but she's harder on gear than me then my original 9ft clx shop pole is perfect ,

there must be some people really abusing there gear treating it in a ruff manner and I bet the dontime do regular maintenance to there gear,

me I got a touch of ocd maintenance and looking after my gear I have had my extreme a few years now, you look after your gear your wallet stays full, until late Mrs finds it,

Been using a tennis ball on my poles for about 10 years, gives added protection to the end cap and gives a great "bounce" when the base of the pole hits the floor. It's also has saved me a few times when I've hit a car with the pole.

Tho it looks quite silly and del boy comes to mind. You work with quality poles and equipment n stick a cheapo everyday object on end of pole  ::)roll

But then if it works n how many people pay that much attention to the equipment in our hands...

The beauty of a tennis ball on there is that it doesn't have to be on there all the time, for certain houses/ commercial work I don't work with it on the pole.
