Pet urine

Can discolouring caused by pet urine be removed from a carpet. The carpet is cream coloured, synthetic and is felt backed. If so how? I have products to deal with the smell, but would like advice on dealing with the stain.
Thanks in advance.

Interestingly I today cleaned a john Lewis 100%wool cream rug, long piled, with a fist sized yellow stain caused by customers dog.
does anyone out there have any suggestions on product to reduce/remove yellowing discolouration. Thanks, Simon

No its not possible unfortunately. The urine has chemically damaged the actual fiber. You may make a small improvement with something like sod met an ingredient in products like Craftex Shift but it will likely be more trouble than its worth in most cases.
Pet urine rinses out of most synthetic fibers no probs.
