Find a piece metal, tube, solid etc. a bit longer then the poles, push it into the poles until you feel the lip, get somebody to hold the poles on a bench or floor and give it a couple of good taps. This will release the taper.

Rubber gloves and twist.

+1

Best practice I've found to stop sections jamming is to make sure before pushing the sections together that the pole taper surfaces are clean. That goes for whilst working too for example when just using one pole section for ground floor work then adding other sections to it.

u need 3 people 1 on each end pulling hard then one in the middle holding it buy the join slowly  bend the sections in a curcle moshon keep rotating it till the sections come apart it will brake the vacume that is caused buy the dirt in the taper ,i get this on my carbon fishing poles when its raining this works every time  dont bend the sections to much tho as they could snap :'( this is a nother reasion y i use alli poles as u can bang them on the grass and pull at the same time to unjam them ;D

3 ways to seperate taper carbon sections

1. heat - get an electric heat gun and work the area but dont over do it then twist apart usually anti clockwise best with 2 people and rubbeer gloves for grip

2. if you have a solid swan neck on your gutter vac place this in the wheel arch of your van and twist ( or anywhere you can get the swan neck to 'jam' allowing you to twist the other section ( ideal for one man on his tod )

3. again if you have a solid swan neck you can shock it off by using a metal post and pulling back 'banging' the inside radius of the swanneck the shock can get it to release

personally i wouldnt stick anything up the pole to bang it apart as the leading edge of the taper is thin and your more likely to damage it and then both sections will be fooked

good practise is to dry lube before assembly or use electrical tape as a 'stop' so if the section squeeze together the tape prevents them 'ringing' together and will seperate ( sorry thats not much help until you get them seperated! )

Cheers guys , I tried putting a piece of metal down it and tapping it but found it started to damage the edge. Will try again with the methods above - it's carbon poles , nice one

I got 2 sections stuck the same as you a few days ago and managed to get them apart with 3 people twisting but was ready to try the jet wash down the gap between the sections. . Can't say if it will work but I would have thought so

Had this once and it took ages on my own to part them.
Now I dip the joints in water or wipe them down before fitting.
Impossible done straight away, miracles can take a little longer.

To remove the pole from the mandrel, when it comes out from the oven, we run cold water down the inside to shrink the mandrel quickly. It might be worth trying.
We use a vice to trap the outer taper then use a winch with a 1.5 ton pull to remove the mandrel, so a few heavy taps shouldn't damage the carbon fibre.
Just as a piece of information, I have no doubt that after six months of testing we have developed the non jamming tapered carbon fibre pole.
It is not for sale, we are still deciding whether to patent it.
I have no doubt that it will be a huge game changer in this industry just as the downpipe clearer will be.

Or use a bit of insulating  tape.
