Whats my van worth?
« on: September 16, 2016, 09:57:48 am »
I am going to sell my vauxhall vivario, it 2007 , 80k, in good working order.  IT has an  ionics 2 man 600 ltr system fitted. I have had it from new and serviced it each year. Just looking for an idear of its worth?

The van is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.

Here's on 08 plate with slightly higher miles being sold by a dealer/trader.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-VIVARO-91000-MILES-NO-VAT-2017-M-O-T/322259902388?_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982&_trkparms=aid%3D888007%26algo%3DDISC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D38661%26meid%3D03d721807ae245a28b737d9e18e1c52e%26pid%3D100009%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D2%26sd%3D112133869635

He will have some 'fat' across the van so he can sweeten a tradein against it or haggle on a straight buy. He probably paid around £2750 at auction.
The Ionics system may cost a fortune but is only worth anything to someone who wants a van mounted system to start off with.

As a system sold separately you may get £350 - £500 for it. But its only a plastic water tank, a frame, a couple of used pumps and controllers.

So I think you would be asking top dollar at £3750 for the whole vehicle + system. But again, you may get more from someone who doesn't know values. I would be inclined to pay over the odds for a van that is already setup as a wfp van provided the system was professionally fitted.

Years ago in the trade we would have removed the system and sold the van on its own replying the floor. Whilst wfp is now much more popular there are still some traders who do still do that as it opens up a much wider range of customers.

I would say 3K - 3.5K. Anything less and it's a giveaway, I'd try to hang out for top range offers in this bracket.

I think he would have to be happy with that tbh.

There's a cleaner on another forum who sold his Vivaro with a 500 liter tank in it. It could have been a PF system but not certain on that. Similar mileage and age. He was asking £3800 and later adviced that he had sold it. I didn't ask what price he got. He lives in the Midlands area.

I always think that a pretty good indication of a vehicle's base value is what it stands in at on your books with write down/depreciation.

Have you got any pics of the van and system?
