Cleaning stone floor
« on: October 14, 2016, 12:40:17 pm »
Kev - I did your course in Birmingham but not done much real stone since then (spring)

This has come up - she wants it cleaning and sealing - its not very old but is very grubby - it was sealed with a Lithofin product that she does not know the name of and they have been using Lithofin Easy-Care on it - the floor is dull and grubby but I also saw residual grout haze in one area (not pictured) - she says it was all sealed when laid - can you just run through your routine to clean (and re-seal?)

Going back Monday to do it... Any advice welcome

Pre wet it
Then agitate and Deep Clean with PSRP HDT&G Cleaner coupled with honing powder
Allow to dwell and agitate again
Extract
Rinse
Extract again
Then polish if required using Elica Pads
Then seal if required with Miracle 511 H20  Plus

It is hard to be absolutely sure from the images!  It looks like a limestone but looks polish-able to me.  Try and send me some better images that I can zoom in on in other words not inline photos.  Regarding the sealer I would tell her no regarding re applying any old sealer that she has knocking around and insist on your own sealer or she will blame you if it goes wrong.  At least you have control that way!  If she insists check the date on the old stuff or you could get into all sorts of problems especially if it is contaminated.
