Need new van
« on: September 01, 2016, 03:27:40 pm »
Vans just failed MOT and it's uneconomical to repair. Have a budget of about 6-8k. Needs 3 seats and 1000kg payload. What do you recommend and what sort of finance deals are available, with interest rates so low is that feeding down to finance deals?

As above

fiat scudo, peugeot expert or citroen dispatch

i have the 1.6hdi 1000kg and its great, i would have preffered a 2.0hdi for more poke and it is by all accounts the better engine.

Had an old scudo before this for years, never had any problems whatsoever with either.

Wouldnt buy a different make of van

Ford transit connect T230, that's the high roof long wheelbase version. 90hp, 1000kg payload. I've had mine 5yrs, great van. 40 mpg. 500ltr tank. You can pick the newer versions up reasonably cheaply now. When I say new I mean anything newer than 2004  ;D

I have a Citroen dispatch 2013 paid £6000 it's a great van perfect size, I have the 1.6 hdi model not as much poke as the 2.0 but plenty enough for a work van, to fill up its £75 and I get around 550 miles and a payload of 1000kg

Hi Lal, yeah, you are spot on there mate, my mistake. It is 900kg. I had it down as 975kg on a document but this is incorrect. Then i rounded it up to 1000  :D

That seems a good price, was that a dealer or a private seller?

Surely you cant put a 1000 litre tank in a dispatch? they have around a 1300 payload but that includes everything you carry, including  yourself!
