domestic cleaning cloths dilemma
« on: July 27, 2016, 07:56:18 am »
Hi all I am currently cleaning peoples homes on my own but now ive got so much work i need to take a couple of people on.  Thing is atm for dusting everything i use a damp microfibre cloth which i spray with antibac then wipe over with one of those blue lidls glass cloths which really pick up all the dust and dry the surface (i can't live without these cloths they are amazing).
What cloths do you provide your team with (is it the colour coded papery cloths that you throw away) or shall i provide my team with what i use ( worried about cross contamination) If i gave them cloths could i honestly expect them to wash the cloths themselves, would i have to go around collecting dirty cloths/handing out new ones.  I am based at home so could i expect them to collect cloths/cleaning products from me?  Sorry for the long post but i just want to get it right.

Firstly, you cannot expect your staff to wash your cloths and secondly even if they agreed you would always wonder are they being washed correctly and all at the right temperature and with the correct detergent etc, etc.  That said you need to sort that yourself.

Buy the Microfibre and glass cloths in bulk and yes make sure they are colour coded to what you want.  Then when they collect from you, the next time they drop off the dirty ones and collect clean ones surely?  It all however needs costing out accurately it may cost more to wash and dry them than to supply new as you have added labour, electricity, detergent and your time washing and drying

Hope this helps
