dont know why your all moaning,if you care to read the terms and condition of your personal account it will say that your not allowed to run a business though it,hence the wording "personal"

so now your being put on to there business accounts and rates  ::)roll ::)roll ::)roll

All of the above comments ARE about business accounts.

Banks like RBS and a few others have just this week decided to stop having the option of a flat rate business account.

They are now moving to a 'chargeable' business account, basically to push small businesses out.

So before you could pay £25 per month flat rate, but now every transaction is going to be charged,  50p for every bacs payment sent through, etc.

Run two or three personal accounts where its all free. Then do Internet bank with all of them . Put cheques into a saving a/c  and tranfer to current personal a/c. I have been in this business for 8 years and never had a business a/c.

Ha, came back from holiday to a letter informing me that RBS were putting my charges up from £60 p/m to £540 p/m  :o

I was straight on the phone to them but they couldn't put me through to anyone with any authority to fix it. So they raised a complaint and need to get back to me within 5 days as per their terms and conditions.

Ah well, had a decent run with them I suppose, I've got appointments with Halifax and Clydesdale Bank next week. Going to be an absolute royal pain in the harris.

And there's this nugget as well from Natwest: https://www.theguardian.com/business/2016/jul/25/natwest-paves-way-for-introduction-of-negative-interest-rates

Only a plan but watch your money evaporate as you leave it with them.

The letter from the RBS actually suggested that I just hang on to any cash I get because it'd work out cheaper for me. WTF is going on?

It's a sorry state of affairs.
