Hi all! Just joined the site - a wealth of info it is too! Been looking into this WFP business for quite some time and  i'm well confused! Looking at the threads about trolley systems it doesnt seem as if you need to use a final polishing unit, is this right?

A trolley system is no differant from a backpack or van mount they all work the same way.

You can get away without a D/I as long as the R/O is bringing the tds down far enough but i would recomend you get one as an R/O unit is not going to get the TDS down to 000 which is the ideal reading for window cleaning.

You only need a small one after your R/O and they are pretty cheap.

No you can get a trolley with it on but its not needed.

Your D/I unit connects to your R/O unit so if you have your storage tank in a shed or garage with the R/O unit the D/I is there connected to the R/O

ive got a 25 L barrel in my car thats about 3 months old (its my spare emergency / i feel like working till 6 barrel )

its still 003 TDS even with bits of leaves in the bottom

Pure water can only become impure if it can absorb minerals (or solutes) from whatever it comes into contact with, plastic can contaminate water but very slowly, I have water ina plastic 25l barrel, initial tds 000 now 002 after 2weeks in sunshine, wouldn't worry bout that, only thing would concern me is contamination from hose pipe or not thoroughly rinsing tanks prior to use.

JM is absolutly right, pure water will not contaminate unless it comes into contact with minerals. as posted, pure water will 'leach' minerals from plastic over time though. polypropaleane containers are best, i still have pure water 4 years old and still 000.
one thing i would suggest though before taking the wfp plunge is to consider a van mount system first. while more expensive to begin with, you will be able to complete your 10 houses in about an hour instead of all day. if you would like to see one in action Pm me.

yeah, I'm sure trolleys and backpacks are great for those who it suits but generally I've found them to be more an accessory as opposed to a full system ( I just know someone is gonna complain bout me sayin that) no offence to anyone intended, I would look into a van system or a trailer system at least - min 400ltr, spend once and spend wisely.

  ask if somebody on here is wfping near you ,spend a  day with them.
weell worth it then everything will come clearer.

That's the beauty of this forum. I know a couple of the guys have come in for a bit of stick recently, but overall the information on this site has proved absolutely priceless for me.

I was just thinking yesterday about how long Pure Water will stay in it's pure state, and lo and behold there's a whole thread that answers the issue in a couple of simple posts.
