airflex vac booster.....
« on: May 14, 2016, 09:17:32 am »
does anybody use a vac booster pod with a storm?????
i use my storm van mounted and run two ext leads out to the van, i need to know whether its okay to plug the
vac boosterpod direct into one of these ext leads rather than run another seperate ext lead out just for the pod.
ie would it over load th ext lead to have one of the storm leads plugged in as well as the vac pod???

Technically you will be drawing too many amps from that one socket, however  it will be only slightly more so will be absolutely fine. It will be important to plug the two different legs of your machine in to two different sockets and your heater into a different circuit otherwise you will be drawing around 7800w from one circuit. A circuit is designed to take 7200w maximum.

Let us know how you get on with the Pod, I'm thinking of getting one.

Yeah like robin said ...It will be fine ... Two 6.6 on one cord ....the other 6.6 and the pump on cord two.
I would use a 2.5mm extension cord for the two 6.6 cord .
Udually Cheaper to make them up yourself by getting the wire and plug heat from an electrical supply place.

used it today in a three storey house, 100 foot hose length........  seperate ext lead so no issues, i was told there may be possible issues with it creating too much pwer for the body of the storm (it was meant as an upgrade for the pro apparently), but no issues there either. It definately made a difference nice increase in suction/airflow, carpets were very clean (but then they were before with the storm), but i think they were left even drier immediately after extraction. Felt very powerfull at the wand end and certainly made some noise!  so, early days with this new toy, but i would say looking good so far.........
