No Mate, just look after my poles very well. Sprayed them with epoxy coating  from day one and every year thereafter and never broken any sections. I have a few brushes but still use the first brushes from Gardener`s. I still find the originals the best.

its hard to say what life span cos ive hurd people on here saying there slx pole is 4 years old with hardly any were but my slx is just over a year old and the number 1 section is starting to get badly worn to the extent its pxxxxing me off lol , ide like to try a extreme or even a  facelift neon but not yet desided  ;D i mite just try a facelift edge next as they do a himod edge in longer poles so not shore if there as good as a super max?

Yeah, if you've trashed an slx in a year, best avoid the extreme.

You need to service the slx at least once a month, the extreme would be at least once a week.

I've been reading this topic and I'm too trying to decide between six again and xtreme.

But still no closer to deciding 🙈  :P
