pump problem
« on: May 19, 2016, 10:10:00 am »
I have an amtech POWR-FLITE  PFX1350 and had a problem with the pump yesterday, i turned the machine off too refill then turned the pump back on and nothing, the pump turns on but no water out the wand, when i turn the pump off again i can hear the pump rattling and knocking for like 30 seconds after switching off.

Im thinking it could be bearings or something has broke/snapped in the pump.

So my next question is who can i get too sort it out in the north west, i have spoke too amtechuk but they are like 5 hours from me, and are rather expensive think it will cost around £500 quid by the time i get the machine there and then there price too service the pump.

are you sure you don't just have an air lock as it sucked in air when it ran out of water?

do you have an open ended solution hose you can put on to shift the air so the water can flow?

Hi, i could try that tomorrow but i have a feeling its more to do with the bearings or something along them lines as the pump didnt sound right at all, really loud knocking and rattling for 30 seconds after switching off.

can you open it up and look yourself?

if its the head thats gone you are looking at about £200 for a new head and if its the motor it will be the same again or more depending which motor you have so if someone else is fitting you will have labour on top too

if you can open the machine up yourself and diagnose you will save a lot of wonga and gain experience for next time
