Some are quite coarse like the Host ones which are hard to get out imo even with a Host machine. Others are like powder like Sebo duo P which are easier to remove imo.

Some are natural so more absorbent some are synthetic less absorbent but cheaper then you get more rounded and some more course so more surface area.

I wouldn't bother, as has been said they are all fairly rubbish. But can be useful as a problem solver sometimes. When I need to I use Sebo Duo P.

I got rid of my Host system many years ago, however some guys running 'dry clean' franchises seem to be doing ok. I just dont get it myself I mean how do they do the edges, stairs, awkward areas etc. I'm sure they have to pre-spray heavy soiled areas, and maybe they are using Dynamal to encapsulate domestics, which is a wet process not dry!

Our district council have been 'sold' the host gospel according to saint drygod - its even one of the case studies on the host website I think - anyway whenever I am in one of their buildings with carpet they look absolute Shiite but they wont buy any third party services due to budget restrictions - I imagine the machines are sitting in a cupboard somewhere
