Not hard to find nonsense like that Dave, I hadn't long started when I was approached by a guy selling a new type
of water purifying machine for drinking water, latest tech from Japan and a game changer.
It filtered the water, electrified it, magnetised it and changed the molecules in such a way that by drinking it you could nearly
live forever as reversed ageing and cured everything from a cold to cancer.
The thing is deionising water still mystified me then so I nearly fell for it.

Went back today , I told the owner that iv dried the handles with a waffle cloth  after I did the windows , he said I can't understand why the letter box and front door handle isn't affected but the extension at the back is....... ( I think something clicked ) .... He said - unless the builder who did the extension used a different quality handle compared to the front which came from a double glazing firm ....

Hi Shrek, those waffle cloths are so good they may even restore the handles to their former glory.  ;)
