I remember nearly 20yrs ago I was a member, I was leafleting then and half of one side of the leaflet was a warning box about how not every carpet cleaner was a member of the NCCA, it went on to say that the NCCA  was the only national reconised governing body of professional carpet cleaners. I really sold the benifit of customers using a NCCA member.

I've got to say it really worked well and  helped me book lots of work. If you want to get your £300 worth out of the NCCA then I think you really need to use it as a marketing tool...... just having the logo on your can will do no good what so ever

That's the way to sell the benefits of the NCCA and making it work for you the nagaitive side of me is saying that the customer could then look up any member and price shop, on a leaflet you are the only person but on the Internet and probably at the time YP's then you are all bunched together.

Clive, after 8 or 9 years being a member I am starting to wonder myself, other than the logo and newsletter what I'm paying for?

I've never heard anyone say they are busy because they are members.

I know it's up to us how we sell it, and I do, but I could sell the IICRC in the same way and that is only £120 per annum.

Not sure if I will renew or not..

............. I know it's up to us how we sell it.............

Why do you need to sell 'it'.      What you need to sell is 'yourself' - and if the quality you produce is first class then the quantity will follow automatically irrespective of belonging to any form of trade association.

It is actually worth 200 grand that it holds in cash, of course they need reserves, but they just store cash instead of employing good people to promote the benefits of using a competent professional.
