How do you guys deal with wicking on commercials. I know you treat the areas , but sometimes it happens. Do you explain to the customer before hand of the possibility?

Is it wick back on low profile / carpet tile carpets after HWE? If so, encapping with a rotary is the answer.
If the carpet requires extraction then follow up with a dry bonnet to take out as much moisture then use air movers or just encap after extraction.

Thanks lads,I do all above. But like today, carpets thrashed. Scrubbed the carpet with 360i and the brush head, lots of coffee stains . Let it dry abit , then misted the whole carpet with Dynamall and bonneted it. Even after that you still might get some wicking, do you clarify this to the customer.

did you try just encapping a bad area, place air mover to speed up drying and see what it looks like once its dry?
Even though an office carpet looks trashed you'd be surprised what encapping alone can do. Even the most powerful sucking HWE machines can leave carpet tiles too wet. Wick back generally only happens when the carpet takes longer to dry.
If I get a bad office carpet i'll use a spotter and just rinse the (no pre-spray) with F90 in the tank the heavier coffee stains and the worn/stained circle areas in front of desks where the swivel chair sits. << I usually use the porty to extract those areas if they need doing. Then encap everything with a Zebra pad and rotary.
Tried a rotawash once but found it left the carpet too wet. Probably user error but the area that I used it on wicked back.

I think it's because of the 360i, from my researches it's not the best tool to be used on carpet tiles, especially if it's the 3 slots one.
Personally i very rarely use HWE on commercial, the Cimex works brilliant on low profiles.

Agree using hwe on low profile will cause wicking ,when the coffee spills it has no where to go with the bitumen backing.Usually only use encapping as a follow up and not the main cleaning tool.Might look into it more.Has anyone added sodium met to a encapping product to treat coffee stains. How much better is a cimex compared to a normal low speed?Hey Liviu,i like the brush head on the 360 on Small thrashed commercials.

IMO Cimex is king when it comes to commercial carpets, a lot faster and cleans better especially if you run a bonnet afterwards so no hoovering the next day.
I've used Dynamal & Fusion Clean and had no problems with coffe stains.
