Cheapest place to buy flojet pump?
« on: March 18, 2016, 01:43:01 pm »
As the title says. Where is the cheapest place to buy a flojet pump for the wfp set up. I had a 100 psi before and would like the same again.

Last one lasted a few years but has finally died after being ripped out the van when I forgot to close the door and the hose reel went walkies.

Thanks

I've never used flowjet mysef as always used shurflo as seem bulit proof. This seems a very resonable price to me  http://www.purefreedom.co.uk/pumps-controllers/pumps/12v-100psi-5-2lpm-shurflo-diaphragm-pump.html

I see they also do a flowjet 7.1 lpm but seems quite dear in comparison to the shurflo 5 lpm so might be best to shop around  http://www.purefreedom.co.uk/pumps-controllers/pumps/12v-100psi-7-6lpm-flojet-duplex-diaphragm-pump.html

Don't buy one - I did. Not worth the extra money.

Buy one of these http://www.agratech.co.uk/search.php?mode=search&page=1

Just a question.

Why do you prefer a 6.2 lpm pump over a 5.2 lpm Dave?

Our 5.2 lpm pumps give us about 2 lpm at the brush head at the flow rate we are happy with.  If I want a bit more then I can up the flow to 2.5 lpm but that's too much for me as I use more water overall.

Spruce it's probably the same reason why I want that type of pump now as you can run chems through it so should last longer than the standard shurflo  pump used for wfp work.

I bought one to get a bit more flow. In reality it makes little difference because with micobore and all the restrictions like the jets give you, you can't get much more.

So shurflo are better than flojet. I didn't realise the price difference. This flojet has lasted me atleast 4 years and would have done longer if not damaged through being torn out the van.

Will use a shurflo as people are rating them and there cheaper. Thanks lads

I'm not sure anyone has said that. Years back Gardiners said the Flojet were better.

The weak link with the Shurflo pump was the micro on/off switch, probably agrivated with the introduction of minibore and microbore hose. Some stated that Flojet used a more robust micro switch.

However, the introduction of the Varistream controller by Williamson pumps (the UK agents for Shurflo) solved that problem.

We have 2 Shurflo pumps that are going on to 10 years old and a 3rd which is nearly 8 years old. The first 2 are still in daily use.

I know a chap that bought two flojet pumps and did not last very long as they froze and split one winter.
