take care my friend you dont scare people away. just send terms it works fine for me. The way you write these also can be an issue mine are link a spec what I will and will not do. basically packages. the other stuff like cancelling you be lucky even after they sign to get money out of them most that do this dont care.
I include in mine its there responsibility to provide parking, yes and they do. If you want the room cleared its x price if you want me then its y
Any risk and they are asked to sign disclaimer after being explained what that risk is. I cant understand how some carpet cleaners take risks say in stain removal and if anything goes wrong or does not meet customers expectations, it down to them to sort it out. its the old cleaning and restoration. when does cleaning become a restoration job? I sure you been in those jobs where the customer thinks your a magician -) sure for a price I can be that for you -)
I would say that you Ipad idea is great but for another reason. for testimonials. getting them just after you finish is just about the best way to get something that will benefit you. it might be just writing some comment in a form or site or google all you need it to link your ipad to phone which is really easy. plus this is like them signing off the job saying all is great. its hard for them to anything otherwise after. you do sometimes get those people that are clock watchers and dont like how long it took. we used to get this with that maid service. I say so what is wrong then, many just could not give a list but keep saying about the time. cleaners are not allowed to earn good money if they are quick and do a great job.
If you linked a wordpress site to yours and before you go to job sign them in as a user so all you need do is present them the area where they need to write that nice stuff about you -) you can then embed these comments or link to the wordpress site. you should setup the wordpress site in a folder called recommendation so the url would be
www.yoursite.co.uk/recommendation that way people searching for recommendation for carpets cleaners would get your site first
You can even then go back and edit in some images from that job when you get home
