This is not a genuine vac it says itself Equivalent Lamb Ametek Model so it's not Lamb motor for extra £30 you can get a genuine Lamb Ametek

The cheap vacs on eBay arent crap - but they very often have a thermal cut off so after about 5 mins running in an extractor they cut off and won't start till they cool down so they just arent any good for our purpose. Also they very often don't have the air seal which helps in the damp environment our machines give them.

Worldwidecleaningsupport have genuine US Lamb Ametek's on for £69 plus VAT at the moment for the 1500watt ones - thats a complete bargain.

I would bite the bullet and fit them yourself - once you have done one and learnt more about the internals of the machine you will feel much better about sorting it in the future.

Cheers for that mate, that will have vat and delivery added u assume and fitting myself mate us a none starter...im sh!te with anything like that.

A local company charge for genuine vacs from prochem approx £440 for 2, inc vat and fitting.

However through a mate ive got that down to £360 all in for 2 vacs... what you think?????

Or £180 for not prochem ones??

Not sure what vacs Prochem one's are - i bet they will be Lamb's

I wouldnt go for the cheap £180 ones as it looks like they are charging a lot for the labour of fitting them so if they are charging £180 all in then they arent paying a lot for the cheap motors themselves.

Where do you live? Maybe someone on here knows someone local to you that could fit them for a bit of cash - a lot of carpet cleaners do their own motors so you may have someone close by who would do them and show you what to do as they go - most are willing to help!
