Hi, I know a lot of you on here have a lot of experience in carpet cleaning , I just wondered how you all started of gaining work?
I have a website and also have a window cleaning round I do get the odd carpet cleaning job but they are few and far between .
Any advise would be great . Thanks in advance

Sounds daft but have you told all of your window customers?
Have your invoices got details of other services? Do you ask if you can demo?

Hi Sean,
A lot of my customers I don't get to see as they pay online and they are out when I come round ,but yes putting it on my invoice slip is a great idea and offering a demo is good too.
Do you have a lot of commercial work and if so how did you go about getting that?

I would not like to start again cleaning carpets again from a standing start.
25 years ago started cleaning windows then developed carpets from there don't clean windows now stopped 12 years ago.
Its all about reputation the more jobs you do the more people get to know you and pass your name on.
It all about building it over time do a good job the more work will flow in.
As for commercial work sometimes would rather just do domestic get paid at the end of the day and less price conscious most of the time.

Try joining something like Checked and Vetted which I use in the Northeast, leaving job report cards get you good reviews which lead to referrals and repeat customers. I also have a link to my reviews on my website, feel free to take a peek.

Adwords it the only place prospects come looking for carpet cleaning. but you need to understand cost of a client so your prices are set right. as an example if you spend £20 getting a customer you want to cover that plus you overhead costs and profit. it really does not matter how much the cost of a customer is as adwords is a market and everyone is competing on or around that cost so you will alawys be competitive not matter what the cost.
