A bit confused regarding the lamb vacs for my ninja , need 2 replacements but prices vary so much. Spares 2 go are selling genuine 3 stage 1500 wat vacs for £59 each, sounds cheap that includes vat and carriage. Does this sound too good to be true as the identical looking vacs that have come out are lamb 1200 wat but look different.(1200 have a plastic flange and 1500's metal). Looked at Woodbridge and they sell  a similar looking 1500 wat labelled as lamb but slightly more expensive £around £100 inc var and carriage.

Has anyone heard of spares to go and do you think they are genuine as I am aware of a lot of copies out there.

The vacs in the link above are ' real ' 
The only lambs really these days are the ones hopping around the fields , the lamb name was aquired by ametek and they are now built in mexico .
spares2go vacs might be ameteks from eastern europe plant , god knows what woodbridge are selling .

Ashbys are mostly using 5.7 vacs made by USA company electro motors these days , so thats another option for u . U can get those from restormate , alltec and others .

I've had several of the cheap 3 stage 5.7 motors and they seem to last just the same as the more expensive ones..........

Why have vacs come down in price ? 14yrs ago when I had a portable I was paying £130 for a vac motor now they are half that

id say many were paying more than 130 back then ?  u mean 230?   

I would say its several things  , assembly  moving to low wage economys  and parts being manufactured in china etc
The internet ... meaning people can compare prices and are no longer relying on the machine manufacturers to supply them .

To be honest it was £180 but I put £130 because I did'nt want people to think I was exagerating

The company I used is still on the go now but is a 10th of the size, they were the biggest player in East Yorkshire but now are a little outfit. (the Internet killed there business) , they still live in the pre-Internet days  were they think no one knows the cost of anything and they can charge whatever they like.....  But no one shops  there

Not so long since I can remember them been £200 each internet is a god send will give the cheaper ones a run at 2 for £118 as opposed to £300 can have 5 plus change for my £300 .

2009 naively paid £270 for one fitted locally.....decided to look into it a bit more when 2nd vac went a month later and I realised how easy they are to change.

Just been quoted  £300 for 2 new 3 stage 5.7 1500 watt and fitted does this sound about right

Sounds about right to me for 2 lamb 3 stages, bit of a mine field with vacs cheap in balanced lambs that make a racket, copies that look identical, lambs made in Italy that aren't as good as the ones made in Mexico. Suppose you pays your money you takes your chance these days.

Just bought a new steam pro today with the 150psi induction pump, going to use the 500 psi ninja for commercial stuff, sick of leaks and pump problems (pump was only new in September) now leaking, had a leak from the pressure gauge, leak from the regulator, leak from a hose to the pump, seem to have had more leaks than Wales then within a week both vacs go. Pi..ed me of big time spending a fortune on repairs and moving work so decided to go with a more straight forward machine and bought a new steam pro heard great things about there reliability, when I was dropping machine off engineer showed me the line of mytee, perfect heat, storm machines all with big pumps that are leaking said they are constantly seeing 500psi Machines with pump issues.

Used it today and was great quite and plenty of vac, going to use it with my v2 steam mate tomorrow.

Good size as well perfect for domestic jobs.

I been looking at selling my Prochem powermax for a long time now but looking at your post i might keep it...Its one off the older ones but the body work still looks new and its now running the latest 5.7 vacs and 150 psi induction pump.  Been looking at buying one of the following machines  Storm.. Enforcer.. Jag.. or Alltec machines to replace it.
