Hi guys I have this little Woodbridge powermate which I'm having some electrical problems,it seems when I turn the heater element on its tripping the electric, I have changed both plugs but still no joy, also it was tripping when both vacs were running any ideas would be appreciated thanks

Have you tried plugging it else where ?

Some trip switches are very sensitive  especially in todays new builds, try plugging in on 2 different rings.

Hi Geoff thanks for the advice I tried that and still was tripping, it's been on and off for a few weeks, it was working fine today for 2 hours then suddenly tripped and the heating plug wouldnt work again

If everything trips when turned on separately then it's a strange problem, it's rare that every electrical item within the machine would go at once, often the heater will trip but the vacs are ok or visa-versa.

I would check the earthing and any joint connectors

Cheers Mike, will check that, normally it's just heater but today after 2 hours the heater plug tripped the electric so I carried on as the water stayed hot for a while then 1 of the vacuum tripped so could only use 1

So if the heater has done this for a while it could be a problem with the element and could be that now you need a new vac as well.

If it's intermittent then it's almost certainly a slight water leak.
I used one of these years ago, and in fact it's still in the back of
the shed. They use a Haden 2kw kettle element. Eventually the seal
will leak slightly allowing some seepage onto the plug connector, this
also causes condensation problems which can wreak havoc with the
Vac motors. Worst case scenario about £70 - £80 to replace element
and motor.

Thanks for everyone's comments does anyone know where the best place would be to get a replacement thermostat and heating element thanks
