I'll have a slow time until mid march, still work most days but just 2 jobs instead of 3 and no weekends.

My usual January start - picking up odd jobs here and there and doing some I wouldn't consider if I was busier.

I'm lucky that my wife has a decent job so we wont starve ;D

I do wonder how some go on if they are the main breadwinner in these quiet times especially newer starters.

Im still in well paid employment but ive reduced it to 17 hours. Saturday morning and Sunday night. Takes pressure off in times like this but through Dec ive not a day off and was knackered.

For me December was ok but not mad and to be honest i get loads of calls and email enquiries for this time of the year but i am going away for almost a month so i don't take any work on just pass it on to other fellows carpet cleaners.

After a very busy Xmas run in probably the busiest for some years then I'm not sure I could handle the same in January, this week is over spill from xmas and its 7 days this week but next week and the rest of the month I have 2 jobs on just about everyday historically it's usually February that's quiet. Steven what do you do in your other job?

Hi Guys

I had a very busy December but decided that I was going to take it a bit easier in Jan to catch up which so far I have managed but it's only Tuesday!

It's always a bit slower Jan and Feb but that's  time to sort out my large collection of websites.

Cheers

Doug

flat out this week............ then a   massive dj ing job at the weekend, then its time to do some facebook advertising again...........
hopefully the jobs will start to  trickle in..... had  a call to book me for a commercial from a quote i went to do at the beginning of
December, id forgotten all about it.......  must admit, my turnover this week is half aof what i did for the whole of january last year, so onwards and upwards i guess......   definately could do with my phone ringing a few times in the next few days.............

Bit strange for me. A bit quieter at xmas than I thought it would be and so far January is extremely busy!

Same last year!  :o

Last Jan - Feb I was very quiet with carpets... got to March stacked right through to Dec 15. This year I have started off stacked out... Phone  busy, and repeat customers both domestic and commercial... anyway not complaining.

I did expect to be a little quieter come January, how ever pretty well booked up for next couple of weeks and having to work this Saturday and Sunday to accommodate.

On the down side did have a £350 office cleaning job yesterday, job was today  , empty offices they discovered rats so getting that problem solved first.

Jan for me is never brilliant, had plenty of calls but from wine spillages, carpets that are beyond cleaning or poor access ( for truckmount), i would be flat out working if i took on jobs at cheaper prices, but for me i have a min charge and sticking to it, next week is a lot busier, i know it can be hard to say no to people, especially after Xmas, but for me, id rather concentrate on making sure the rest of the year is busy by spending time in my office, forward planning to make sure the busy months are at max profit, besides i like to take it  easy in Jan after a busy year.
