Blazer Blower letting in water???
« on: November 25, 2015, 05:24:59 pm »
Hi Guys

Anyone have any idea why? When I first start Blazer it blows water out of blower exhaust as if waste tank is full? Only happens for a couple of seconds but don't like the idea of water sitting in the blower. Even if I leave the machine running for ten mins, it will still do it the next morning?

TIA

Justin

It could be condensation or it could be one of the heat exchangers has a small leak so blows it out of the exhaust first thing in the morning.

As above.
If it was condensation it would clear very quickly.
If it is a heat exchanger leak it would happen all of the time. But, having said that, it could be a heat exchanger leak that is re-sealing itself when it heats up.
The way to check is:
Make sure your water box is full when you've finished with it at night, if it is not as full, or empty in the morning, you have a leak.

I would think more likely to be a heat exchanger leak. Is this an easy fix?

Not sure, don't think so, it's a pretty old machine, Blazer plus

If it is you can quite easily bypass the radiator heat exchanger on the old Blazers, it will also increase the air flow. They get clogged up with debris over the years. Stand at the front of the machine and look to the right hand side, near the back is a steel box (at floor level) inside here is the blower heat exchanger

If it's the cylinder exhaust heat exchanger then I have One you can buy, but it's off a 20yr old blazer, but was in use until a few months ago

Thanks Mike

Sorry to be a pain, any chance you could send a pic of your heat exchanger to my mobile 07592898298. This would make it a little easier for my stupidness to deal with the situation!

I've had some amazing success using wonder weld from Halfords sorted my heat exchanger leak which was quite bad.

The Blazer has an air cooled engine doesn't it - no radiator,  just an engine exhaust heat exchanger.

Any idea what else could be causing it? The header tank doesn't appear to be losing water? I don't think it's condensation, it's a bit more water than that
