Consignment Note
« on: August 20, 2015, 09:22:42 pm »
Hi,

I'm looking at consignment notes and filling them out for removal of needles or other such hazards from void properties.

Does anyone have experience in filling these out. On the EA website it isn't too clear on the producer / carrier part.

It states:
The only two exceptions when a consignment note is not needed is where:
domestic hazardous waste (other than asbestos waste) is removed from a domestic household
waste is imported or exported under international waste shipment controls (which uses an equivalent note)

Does this mean if the waste is produced in a domestic void owned by say a housing association would be exempt?

The main reason behind it is under all of the sections it asks for the producers details, would that be the house hold and there for exempt or the company removing the hazardous waste as then they are also the carrier.

I've never been asked for one I just want to make sure everything is above bored and make sure all relevant paperwork is completed

I would write one out just in case, a lot of it depends where your disposing of it. Just be sure to keep hold of the transfer notes when you dispose of it.
