Help needed with how to pay mileage/between jobs etc
« on: June 29, 2015, 09:56:13 am »
Hi everyone,
I need some help in regards to paying mileage/between jobs etc.

I have recently taken on a member of staff to clean houses and offices as the business has really taken off. Some days she comes out with me, other days when I am carpet cleaning etc she will go out by herself. On the days that she goes out by herself, sometimes she comes to my house first to pick up things, other times she goes straight from home to the jobs.

1st question- Do I pay her from the time she leaves my house/her house or just for the hours she works ( nobody I know gets paid to travel to work!)

2nd question- She gets mileage paid as per the government standard if she is by herself in her own vehicle, do I pay that from her house/my house or just between the first job and any subsequent jobs?  and does she get paid for the travelling time in between jobs aswell as mileage?

3rd question- When she comes out with me, does she get paid from the moment we leave my house until the moment we get back, or again just for the time she has worked?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks

I have lads in the van with me of a day, sometimes it can be half hour between jobs an they just sat there getting paid  ???........... It's just how it is.

Day starts when arrived at first job ( or make your own way to the first job ) and get paid til they finish there last job, try to focus on having more compact work to avoid loss of time through traveling or explain to her that money is paid based on the hours worked

It's one of them, if she makes a nice profit are you really to bothered if she gets a hour a day in that she's sat in the van.

I always start at the furthest job and work back towards home, this also means your not getting paid til we arrive there  ;D
