unscrew the brushes and put a pressure washer over them works really well and gets all fluff and
other crap out of bristles also perks brushes up again I do this every 2 weeks.
after every job we also just clean loose debris wipe down happy cleaning

Best maintenance for a duo is sell it and invest in something else.

Get the vac cuff and, with the sebo running, use repeated sharp movements to push the crud off the combs towards the rotating brush. Repeat for other side.

We clean ours like that at the end of every job, and often between rooms. If you do get build up run the m/c whilst holding a fork (curving upwards) against the brush.

Invest in these:
http://www.restormate.co.uk/epages/15094.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/15094/Products/PRPA3401

http://www.restormate.co.uk/epages/15094.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/15094/Products/3302

And you'll have the ability to dry brush before pre-vaccing, a variety of agitation from stiff to softer bristles and the means to reset  the pile when you've finished. And...they keep you fit!!!
