Starting out water fed cleaning
« on: April 19, 2015, 10:52:07 am »
Hi
I am going to switch over to water fed cleaning in the next few months mainly just cleaning the tops water fed and bottoms traditional after i fell from my ladder a few weeks back ( luckly no major Injuries).
i moved to Bristol from Cardiff 4 years ago and I`m looking into just working from a backpack(Big boy) and trolley system along with a 22 ft Phoenix water fed pole at the moment until i can afford to go down the van route.
I Haven`t much of a clue about pure water.

is a 22ft pole ample enough for 2 to 3 story houses?
How much micro bore Hose is Recomended?

i need to purify water from home i am in a hard water area.

so any help  would be appreciated

I know i need to buy a ro/di unit but not sure what to buy.
will a 100 gpd be ample for what i need?

i work about 3 days a week at the moment.

i see ro/di units on Ebay but most are without a pump.
some ro units don`t state if the di unit is with it,it just states 5 stage filter system so would i need a separate di?

I`m really sorry for all the questions but i have been traditional for the past 20 years on and off lol
Any Advice would be greatly Appreciated ;D

thanks

steve

Where in Bristol are you?
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?

No worries, but just to start you off...

Go static if you can (store your pure water in an ibc)

Dont bother with a 100gpd r.o, they're as useful as a slap in the face for our needs. (You'll need an r.o where you live)

Get a 450gpd r.o (the price difference is minimal, and the 450 will keep up with your needs for ages if you're only doing 3 days a week atm) and get a 'proper' D.I vessel (11ltr +)
The ones that come with the smaller r.o's are usually around 1litre so you'll be forever changing resin

Get a tds metre and pressure guage first though. R.o's need decent pressure, so a pressure guage will let you know if you need a water booster pump to help boost the pressure going in to the r.o

22ft is enough for 2storey, but you'll need 25ft for 3storey

Microbore hose, you could probably get away with 50m, but the norm is 100m on a hose reel. (I'd rather have the hose than not, just in case)

If you're going trolley with a reel at the moment though, i think less would be better so not to male the trolley top heavy (if you attach the reel to it)
Why don't you have a quick google before making stupid comments?
