Auto Enrolment
« on: April 01, 2015, 09:16:10 pm »
Any one started this yet? Who have you chosen for your scheme and how did you find them?  I've got about 18 months before my staging date but I want to start preparing early as I think its going to be a nightmare, any experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks
Phil

I just had to google to find out what it was. Pensions ? Off the top of your head (if you know a bit about it) does this apply to an employer of people on 16 hours or less per week ?

Cleanclear i think it applies to all employers but not all employees. If an employee is on less than £10000 a year you  don't have to auto enrol them, but you do have to give them the option of joining your pension scheme.
If you pay your employee through paye you will need to do something about this soon.

Many varying prices,  all above £1k, so I've spoke to my accountant and she is doing it for £375, or you can do the course she is doing for £195,  we aren't doing the course, you cannot advise staff which way to go, or that could be seen as doing it for your benefit and not theiers

George is that £375 for your accountant to set it up for you? I've been doing more research since this post  and I don't think its too complicated to set up yourself. I'm changing from basic paye tools to payroo this month because the basic software can't handle pensions . After this I will start getting things set up with " people's pension" who seem to have low fees (unless I find something of better value). I'm giving myself plenty of time as my staging date is next summer.
