oxalic acid or net trol
« on: March 17, 2015, 09:54:26 pm »
I am doing a decking this week and will be using percarb/soda ash /triphosphate mix to clean and was going to brighten with oxalic acid.
Would net trol be a better product and if not under what circumstances would i be better using this product.
Thanks in advance

I don't know to be perfectly honest but the answer is to get both products and trial them side by side. I don't rate percarb but it has its uses in some situations. Roger is the one to ask but he's phissed with the general attitude of some posters. I hate doing timber and I never even finished my own garden furniture last year. Let us know how you get on.

Thanks for the reply. I did a couple of decks with hypo last year and it didnt really get rid of the dirt to well but did lighten the wood ok.
Have you done many decks with the oxygen bleach as opposed to hypo and what is it you didnt like about the percarb?

Matt.

Percarb needs to be mixed hot to work and only does so for a short time.  I've cleaned one or two decks and you need to do each step in turn and properly neutralise afterwards. I lack patience to do garden furniture and long for someone to open a teak dip near me
