Open a shop in Stevenage.

We did have a shop/trade counter run by Turners cleaning it closed when they sold the business.

For me I like good service and reasonable prices.
A place to go to get consumables like rubber, scrim etc

I only go to a shop when it's something I've forgot and need quick other wise the Internet serves my needs. Well.

As No 23 said a shop is good for a place to build a rapour and relationship if so one knows what there talking about it help to sell the products.

I popped over to see grippatank about a month ago just to pick up a rubber o ring and ended up spending £100 on brushes,o rings and fittings.this was all helped by the fact I could see and touch the product. As well a speak to oliver for advice.

Good job you didn't get the sales girl. Could have been a £1000 lol

Think we will have one of our rope girls work in the shop!!!

A local trade counter would be invaluable and I would ber prepared to pay a little more for items if I could collect them very locally.  Ordering stuff online doesn't work well for me unless it's a small item that Royal Mail can deal with via ordinary postperson.  This is because I live in a flat with a trade button on the intercom that switches off around 10AM.  I live on my own so don't want to potentially wait in all day for a courier.  A courier can't get through communal front door to leave a calling card in my letter box.  However, the postperson can time his/her walk to deliver before trade button switches off.  If I'm out working a card gets left and I collect from post office (5 min walk).

The two local outlets for window cleaning stuff are as follows:  One is difficult to get hold of on the phone and will open their unit on request when they can get around to it (they really do try to help but having to make an appointment can be tricky).  The other is a general cleaning shop where stuff is usually brought from another area twice a week.  Both carry little stock so a fews days wait is often the way; if I need something urgently I drive 25 miles for it.  Neither outlet is greatly clued up about window cleaning beyond the basics.  A number of times I have been specific about what I want and have been told thaty the one they supply is better - even though I have the experience to know otherwise.  Indeed, at the cleaning shop I ignore their advice on general cleaning stuff because I already know that their advice on WFP stuff is geared to sales rather than what's best for me.
I do carry spares of pretty much everything but inevitably a day arrives when I get caught out.

Thanks for the input

Matt.

Good luck JV on this. Like richy just says corwoods in South Manchester is nearest place to liverpool, I have thought about supplying window cleaning bits in the past as I also think there is a market for this, (counter sales ).

Just for example, buying squeegee rubbers in bulk, what would you be prepared to pay, say 1000 @ 36"

Now if it was me I would want to buy for less than £1 each in order to retail them in packs of 10 at approx £25. (£2.50 each ).
