Tunisia for me in a few weeks. Can't wait.
Your right about the motivation. I'm determined to be bang up to date with work before I go.
Nothing worse than going on holiday already behind schedule.
i hope your missus isnt a stunner mate or she ll get a lot of mither off the men in tunisia.nightmare mate.egypt just as bad!creepy.
Lol. I love it how the english say that about the arabic countries.
First time I went the locals were all over my Mrs for a couple of days. Didn't really bother me.
By day 3 she'd had enough though.
All you have to do is be friendly but firm. Soon as you say or do something to that affect, the locals are good as gold.
Israel was much worse that Egypt. They are very sexist there. Jordan was probably the best of those area of countries. Turkey is similar to Egypt.
I won't start on Saudi.
Its their culture. They mean no offence-in general-from my experiences.
If your mrs was in saudi she would have had to cover up. Religious/cultural law.
I know mate. That's what I was implying. The roll was because I think they should move on a bit. But that's another thread.
Ah I see. You've obviously been? It's a hideous place isn't it.
No mate.
I wanted to. But Tamsin refused.
She was worried a bit about getting shot or something as we had had quite a turbulent time in Jerusalem earlier.
Then we found out about the clothing thing-I don't know why, I assumed it was more like Dubai. As in if you were local or a follower of the faith you had to cover up, but not tourists. Wrong assumption.
Re-read my first post-it does look like I've said I've been. We only saw the border.
Got it. Trust me dubai is Arab light. Saudi is the real thing!! Evil place.
Hmmm, kinda got that feeling.
I love Egypt. Now I've seen what I want to around the rest of it, I'll just keep going back to Hurghada.
If you want somewhere hot, arabic and totally non threatening go to Abu Dhabi? There's some beautiful places there. Yas Island is great (very commercialised but still lovely) or Al Ain in the south. Gorgeous oasis town.
I "did" hurghada years ago. Lovely.
I'll have a look, thanks.
We like Hurghada for a number of reasons.
A biggie though-the hotel we like, has a family room (separate bedroom for the children) and is the sort of place you don't have to leave if you don't want to.
And thomas cook are doing 2 weeks in May ultra all inclusive for £2,100.
Can't be beaten really.
We'll see. I'll look at Al Ain though, ta.
Ultra all inclusive mate??
Caribbean all inclusive is just what you'd expect. All inclusive.
Egypt and to a greater degree the European resorts, all inclusive is much more restricted.
It could be AI in one bar/restaurant on the site. Or limited times. Or restricted drinks, food or snacks.
For instance, we went to menorca last year, AI. It was one style of ice cream but not ice lollies. (My youngest is severely dairy intolerant so the lollies were the only option)
One red wine, one White, one rose. One brand of beer. One cocktail per day.
Ultra AI is what you'd expect it to be. Everything included. Ice cream, beer, spirits, cocktails etc at any time of day at any of the bars/restaurants.
It's not the money but more the convenience.
And the deal for £2100-we'd spend more than that staying at home!
Mrs is still undecided though.
Cheers Fin. I'll look at that too. My eldest is 4 now so the kids clubs start to make sense.
