Are Brodex pumps interchangeable
« on: January 22, 2015, 09:08:49 pm »
Hi. Does anyone know if the hole centres on the Brodex system pump mounting plates are the same as others such as Shurflo or Aquatec. Or are the mounting plates, themselves interchangeable.  Need to order new one.
Thanks

Didn't want to phone Brodex about the faesibility of fitting a pump which they don't supply, as it's a bit like asking about a Nissan at the Toyota garage. But, anyway, I phoned this morning and they "didn't know".

Window Cleaning Warehouse gave an instant answer of "yes" and the pump is considerably cheaper than at Brodex.
Have to say, I like the Brodex system and the staff there are nice people, but the prices for parts are a joke.

Brodex used to use Shurflo pumps. I have a feeling that they have recently changed to another supplier.

A fellow window cleaner replaced his Brodex pump with a Shurflo a couple of years ago and it was an identical replacement. If I remember correctly Brodex wanted £119.00 + VAT for the same pump he got from Daqua for £74.00 including VAT.

Brodex also used to use Varistream (Williamson Pumps) as their controller supplier. If you had an older controller failure and wanted to replace it, it was cheaper to buy a complete Varistream controller and remove the circuit board than to buy the circuit board directly from Brodex.

The latest controllers are supplied by Spring Controllers and again, the same applies.
