R/o very slow.
« on: January 03, 2015, 06:27:25 pm »
I think the frost may have got to my merlin r/o as I haven't even looked in the van since the 23rd so just been out to it and with both tanks empty it took a hour and a half to make about 75l of pure and 300l waste.
Is it just on a go slow due to the cold or has the frost buggered it?

Aright rob,

how old is the Merlin is it the old style merlin or the new pentair?
What psi is it running at?

Hi Avo,
It's an old one and to be honest I've never checked the psi but it would normally kick out about 100 litres an hour.
Are you back at work yet?

Probably down to cold weather or membranes could be done

That is a bit slower and water production will slow up in the colder months 1st one to check is your pressure followed by your prefilter.
Sounds about the same as my old merlin tbh mate.

Na back to work Monday mate can't wait to get back out if I'm honest

I'll borrow a gauge and check the tap pressure sometime but it has good flow so never bothered before.
Can you tell by taking the filters out and looking at them or should I stop being a tight as*e and get a set of filters?
Never thought I'd say it but I'm actually looking forward to the peace and quiet of being at work.

Lol stop being tight.

You could time 1 litre in a jug then take out the filter and see what happens production wise it won't harm running it for 5 minutes to see.
What Tds dose it run before it di's it

This will tell if the membranes are in good working order hey but not slower water rates
