Hallo All,

Am after some advice regarding  the above.
If a customer wants protector and deodoriser whats the best approach?

At the moment  i put the Deodoriser in the tank, which is OK but most of it is extracted during the cleaning process, so obviously the smell isn't as strong as it could be.

If I spray the deodoriser down after cleaning then obviously the carpet will be left slightly more on the damp side, but the smell is stronger and remains longer.

Will the deodoriser encourage re-soiling when used like this?

What is the best approach when adding protector into the mix, and will protector and a Deodoriser work together in terms of effectiveness and re-soiling?

Is there a Protector and Deodoriser 'in one' product on the market?

People get confused by deodouriser and fragrance. You should use an appropriate product to deal with a specific odour problem. The key to succesful odour removal is to try and remove as much of what is causing the odour as possible whether it be urine, dog fur oil, mould etc. Most deodourisers are classed as anti bacterial and will deal with issues like dog smell, food residues general smells. However for mould issues you will need something like Formula 429, Odourbac Tech or Microkill.
If you just want the room to smell nice for the customer and this can be very important then the general deodourisers can be added to the tank to provide a perfume. Or you can use something like NI712 and use one spray in the room after cleaning to leave a long lasting perfume.
I wouldn't be using standard deodourisers as a post spray as this can lead to re-soiling, however you could mist the air and maybe down the back of radiators.

I use Craftex clean cotton on most domestic carpet cleaning jobs I do, I just put 10ml per litre in the tank, customers love it and takes away most mal odours from the carpet and atmosphere

why not just mist a bit into the room after cleaning, 10 ml is such a small amount and id have thought the extraction process would render it pointless???
smashing smell though i use the  clean cotton as well, its lush............

I use a rotary with zebra pad to agitate my pre-spray then extract then i spray down deodoriser mixed in a 5ltr sprayer then bonnet pad over to finish.

Yes it could be but then you would extract it out so wouldn't be as long lasting

But at least it will have been in been in contact with the carpet for 15 minutes as opposed to putting it in the tank and its extracted in seconds

The main area i lightly mist but put more around edges or on stairs just spray the risers that way were most is there no foot traffic

Can a deodoriser be added to pre spray?

Chemspec Kill Odor Plus is a Traffic Lane Cleaner & Deodoriser.

It also encapsulates so wont cause resoiling if post sprayed and brushed in. Also goes in tank.

If you were needing to deodorise and protect then I would use KO+ first then rinse then apply protector.
