how to clean out an ibc?
« on: December 07, 2014, 08:58:45 pm »
Just bought an ibc from a printing firm, was used for some kind of chemical used for printing. The ibc is really clean but obviously I'm going to have to clean it out. How do I go about this? Cheers.

Firstly rinse out as much as you can with tap water,

Chuck some degreaser in there like virosol, fill it up and leave 24 hours, then wash out thoroughly with tap water. Fill up with pure and then dump all that pure water.

Re fill with pure and check TDS. Should be fine.

Cheers pal, happy with that answer as I've got virasol in the van.

No worries at all.

Just keep repeating the same process if the TDS is still high. The good things with Ibc tanks is that there is no baffles, so you can stick the hose pipe in and give it a good wash down.
