We just use a sae 40 oil that we got from HM.

Thanks for that - do you mean thats what Hydramaster recommended?
Looking round on Google there seems a lot of info that contradicts itself like using fully synthetic or not.
Just trying to get the right stuff as it seems like the best way to get long life out of the blower.

When we first had our truckmount HM supplied a gallon of sae 40 oil.
I don't know what make it was.
We nearly used that now so I will use one of those that I have linked to next time I change the oil in the blower.

Its a non detergent 30 weight oil you need.

Our TM is a spitfire 3.2 the oil that HM supplied for the blower is a 40 grade and that is also mentioned in the service guide.

Either will be fine Ray, just 30 is more fluid at a lower temp.

Roots recommend an ISO VG 220 fully synthetic oil which seems to be a Gear oil

Just found the Roots own oil on Ashbys website but its £12.50 postage
