Sodium Hydroxide?
« on: October 30, 2014, 05:28:02 pm »
Just topped up my can of G101 in the van from my big barrel and was surprised to read a) it's caustic and B) alkaline with the main ingredient being Sodium Hydroxide.
Works well but I seem to remember the old CIU advice "non caustic" when using chemicals on conservatory roofs. .... Why?

It just gives the 'pros' an opportunity to sound clever and educated about something that doesn't require brains or education.

Because products containing sodium hydroxide (highly corrosive) will cause detrimental damage to conny roofs if not used with extreme caution.
