HELP new to power washing
« on: October 20, 2014, 05:34:23 pm »
pricing my first block pave drive way 200sqr mtrs roughly
noticed an oil stain and they have asked me if i can re sand

1 what is the best chemical for removal of oil

2 do you normally charge per mtre or per day

3 charge for sanding

I do remember a while ago the first post which seemed to be a permanent post regarding power washing gave a guide on how much to charge as well as other useful tips

thanks

I use OT8 for oil removal

Charge per sq meter with a minimum charge of £75 for anything less than 20 sq meters anything over 200 sq meters I charge slightly less than my standard rate due to volume.

My price is weighted towards the cleaning so the resanding is most likely lower than others I charge for the sand plus 50% ( best price I get is £3.50 ) so cost it at £5.50 then charge 1 to 2 hrs standard biz rate on top of the cleaning price.

In summer you could do sand the same day ( very hot sunny ) but I always book a return visit allowing 48 hrs to dry out, at this time of year the return is open ended and dependant on a couple of dry days.

If you use the widest head broom you can find (24" for me  :D)  200 sq meters  takes me around an hour to hour and a half on me own ( depending on how hot it is, front or back )

Fair play, pressure washing can be quite daunting until you've done some

Don't want to bust your bubble, you'll learn some of the basics in a one day course possibly, but only hands on experience will start to give you the knowledge and that does take time, every job will have a different set of circumstances etc.
