i have posted before about the "conservatory mindset"
in my experience regular window cleaning customers look at the number of windows for the price you charge and then in their minds eye look at the roof and compare the two....they then ask for a price, expecting it to be roughly near the window clean price, and then are shocked !!!!

Now the other customer you come across, website inquiry, etc, as no price condition / comparison and probably looks at you, has mentioned before, as some sort of professional, and is not shocked by your price.................so new customers are in my opinion the ones you want for conny cleaning

Agreed makes a lot of sense

i hate being put in the position of them thinking im ripping them off

In time you just develop a thicker skin.

Personally I would worry if I WAS ripping them off as I wouldn't be happy living with myself if that were the case. As regards all else our moto is:

"Just because they say it doesn't mean they are right."

We try not to take it personally. A good business relationship is a win win situation. If the balance is skewed, ie win loose, then it becomes a relationship that won't last.
Success is 1% inspiration, 98% perspiration and 2% attention to detail!

The older I get, the better I was ;)

I just dont understand whatso ever... People pay £1000s of pounds for nice conservatorys yet when it comes to maintaining them they worry about a daft £50-80 a year clean  ???

But they will happily pay £5-7 to get their car washed every week or 2

The thing is most don't consider the price to maintain them when getting one, its the same with upvc fascias most people
get them fitted because they think they are a maintenance free option, no more having to fork out for a painter every
few years.
Then when they realise that they have to pay to get them cleaned it comes as a bit of a shock.

lots of customers havent got a clue how long or the work it takes to get a conservatory roof cleaned properly.when i mention the finials, outside gutters, etc, etc and loads of water you need to use to get them gleaming they often change their mind and agree my price.

lots dont though.id say nearly 50% wont pay to have their roof cleaned at my prices which is not overly expensive either.

sod em.im really not bothered TBH.im busy enough without conny roofs.

i have got one at the end of the month though booked in for when i clean the windows.glass roof £120 (including windows)  .should be done in 2 to 2 and a half hours tops.
price higher/work harder!

I had one a few months think it would be £2 for a conny roof ... I kid you not !

Wow i have had close. 4 panel conny (tiny) She said would it be less than £20, so i looked at it and thought hmmmmm I could actually get that done in 30 mins and i am already set up for windows on house. Yeah why not. Call it £20 i said. She said i will pay you now. House was £15. So she came out with £20. I said it will be £35 inc the windows. She thought i was going to do the roof for a £5. I actually said it's an insult and she moaned. I still clean her house, waiting for her to ask about the roof. Will be £40 now as it was over 6 months ago she asked.

Customer last year said i will give you a fiver to clean my front fascia (would be about £50 for 1hours work (awkard and big), if i wasnt set up) Was a bad day for me. "ohhhhh yes please mate, pretty bad times at the moment. Fiver will come in handy". He knew i was taking the p and said just leave it lol

Don't go ridiculous.
Price it up on regularly hourly rate and double it.
It's kinda not ridiculous but makes the job a lot easier to stomach if it's a crap one.

I priced up a roof about 18 months ago. Customer then had it done twice a year. After the last clean she moved it to monthly.
Double bubble on a practically clean roof.
She's over the moon.
And so am I.
Try to think 'glass half full'

It's just the internet. Try not to worry.
