hot box
« on: October 14, 2014, 05:42:44 pm »
I have a 15lpm hot box and one of my back up machines is a 12lpm.
If I run this through the hotbox on low pressure will it get much hotter than running 15lpm through it?

Should get pretty hot then...what are you cleaning with it.?
Most jobs requiring heat will not require as much flow as say cleaning block. Cleaning block you need flow to wash/move the 5hit away...jobs were heat helps such as paint removal can be done at less flow.
So theoretically you 12lpm machine and your hot box should be ok.... but if you are trying to unblock grease congealed in a drain you would struggle.
Much depends on what you are trying to do...this year I have earned more money  using a 12lpm @ 15bar machine pressure and flow is not eveything.

Thanks Chris,

It's not for a specific job, I'm just thinking of putting a trailer together for gum removal and graffiti removal as I have all the parts, just need to fit them all together.

The hotbox should have a thermosfat. That sets the temp. A hotbox can only get so hot, regardless. My thermostat is broken and i recently did a paint removal job, using an 03 nozzle (making it abot 11lpm) and ran like that all day. Was fine.
