£30 free from go cardless!
« on: October 13, 2014, 03:11:16 pm »
Nice little gesture.

Had some payments fail today. Thought customers are skint lol

Turns out it's go cardless fault. So we got £30 free.

Nice gesture and in guessing more of you lot will get the same treatment.

Cool story eh!

I would be more worried about my customers loosing faith in GoCardless... Do the customers know that there was an issue?

I believe GC users SHOULD be ok.

Unexpected payment failures

You may have noticed that some of your payments have failed unexpectedly this morning.

Unfortunately, these failures occurred due to a problem with our system. The result
is that payments for new customers created last week have failed unexpectedly. This
error may also affect further payments that are due to be collected this week. We
would like to assure you that we have already fixed the issue, so payments created
from today will not be affected.

We will be automatically and silently retrying any failed payments that have
resulted from this issue.
This will mean that any affected payments will be
collected three working days later than expected. Other than this, there should be
no differences to these payments. You will be able to keep up to date on the status
of any of these payments in your dashboards.

We would like to apologise whole-heartedly for this error. We understand how
critical it is that payments work like clockwork, and will be working doubly hard to
ensure that mistakes like this don't happen again. To say sorry, we have applied £30
of processing credit to your account.
