4040 users ... what waste to pure ratio do you use
« on: September 25, 2014, 08:42:19 am »
Speaking to June @ GAPS ref new ultra low pressure 4040 and mentioned I have my current 4040 set at about 50/50 ... she suggested it should be more 70/30 waste to pure to conserve life of ro ?

Ive always had mine at 50/50 so wondering what others have em set as.

Trying to save water but 70/30 seems a lot of waste  ???

Im on a water metre and have mine set at approximately 60% waste to 40% pure.
If you're not on a water meter 70% waste would probably be ok and could prolong the life of the membrane I suppose.
With soft water you could probably do 50/50 as clogging up of the membrane probably isn't as much of an issue.
