friend has a 55 plate hi top ford transit connect for sale could get for about 1800 i reckon but i think it needs a thrust bearing replacing can anyone give me an approximate price for this to be carried out spoke to a mechanic friend who said roughly 600 as gearbox will have to be took out and clutch prob worth replacing at same time

just wondering if anyone has actually had this carried out on there transit connects

It's all labour intensive.

Part is probably around £15.

So £600 will be to remove gearbox. Fit new clutch and the out together again.

Unless it's really bad I wouldn't bother

defo new clutch as above 500-600

its about 130000 colin seems a very decent van just a bit of a rattle when changing gears or pressing the clutch
