« on: April 28, 2006, 12:27:22 am »
Hi guys,
O.k I really need to know from a pro's side of things.  Whats the minimum amount of clients I need to start up?  I was thinking around the region of 200. Plus if you have anymore helpfull pointers let me know.

Cheers  :D ;)

The amount of clients doesnt matter really. If you have 200 clients all for £3 each it is not as good as 50 at £12 each. If i was you, i'd target big houses if you can, as less travelling, means less wasted time!

I started up with no clients but very soon got some.
Charge as much as you can get away with and you will soon have a profitable round.

Depends on what you need to earn not the amount of clients, I started out with goals and targets then quickly realised I dont need to stress about building my round up to fast, partly because of my circumstances and the fact that as a single parent tax credits will help you while you have a shorfall of work, so my round is slowly building itself now if I do need to boost it from part time to full time I'll canvass a little but I'm in no hurry.

All rounds start with one or two customers and build up. You can't wait till you have 200 names before you start because most of them will be gone when you go back.

Also you need to sort yourself out and in the early days you don't want the pressure so a small book is a blessing.

Thats why a lot of people who start out by buying a round end up losing a lot of the customers. They can't cope.
