Backpack Questions part 2!
« on: April 09, 2006, 06:14:37 pm »
Hi all

Am i right in thinking if i buy the following i could make a back pack system? Do i actually need a hose and reel? or can i atach the pole direct to the back (or with say a foot of hose)?

Things i think i need to buy:

Shurflo backpack from either ebay/or sky pole systems (SKP includes all the conectors)
24' pole from gardener pole systems
RO unite from RO Man with a DI add on
6 x 25l containers
1 x water butt

Do i need the hose /reel? can the backpack connect direct to the pole?

advice and any pictures would help on this matter.

Tosh reopened the shurflo backpac thred for me but after looking at it these are my questions

Regards David

dave get yourself up and running

backpack from cleantech £175.00

di resin from ebay some right now about £30 this can be left at house if you have enough containers, it is only used to fill the containers then back in the van also cleantech are doing recondition di resin for £100, ok you might be in a hard water area and want ro but you will need the di cannister in the back of the vechile for top ups etc if you dont have enough water with you so it will not be made redundant when you purchase a ro system

pole from gardners  £120 and trolley from aldi this week about £12

about £400 max

plus containers about £5.00 each this will get you up and running -- get technical once you use the gear

Dave I have a 24ft pole against advice from kirsty at  gardiners, you really do only want as bigger pole as you need, I thought I'd go for 24 ft so I could clean my own windows but I cant see me useing it for to long for 2 floor houses, nothing wrong with the gardiner pole but fibreglass can be a little heavy and at 17st  I'm no wimp. I have posted picks on how I have set mine up on the current topic (wfp in my area)
