I've got a job where its hard access to the back garden and seeing if anyone has ever run pipe through someone's house. I've seen before I think at pirteck a pipe cover / sleave which will "catch" the water if the pipe bursts. I can't find it now though so not sure if its still made

Yeh put a load of sheets down to suppress the vibrations and hope it doesn't burst. Use one of your more newer in good condition hoses.

Ashley , As Lee mentioned use a new hose because you may also find that a used one will leave marks on the floor,carpet ect . I have two new blue ones which apparently dont leave any marks but not used them yet still in the garage  > Ed

I have done it before, a couple of times. Like Lee says, put some sheets/plastic down, and hope for the best. I always tell them the risks.

I use a plastic backed dust sheet runner 1 meter wide 10 meters long, and I try to use a 20 meter hose length so there are no pipe connections inside the property

Thanks Ye I'm going to lie down a lot of sheeting and plastic and use newer pipe. I thought about the connectors too and make sure there isn't any in the house. The stuff I was thinking about is a yellow cover and its going to bug me until I remember what it's call, I might have to go into pirtek to have a look see if they still do it.
The most annoying part is the patio is tiny probably no more than about 20 slabs and will take no time to clean it just a lot of setting up and packing down

Use Roll & Stroll Carpet & Floor Protector right through the house.  It's cheap and it works

Even a length of flat hose with the pipe inside would probably do the job with using all the sheeting at Well. It might hold long enough for if à pipe burst it might give us long enough to turn the machine off

Could you not borrow a length of vacuum hose from a local c/c  run it through that , if it burst the water will at least be contained an run out of one end !!

Another lesson learned from another guy was if you use hot water the hose can melt the carpet. He melted a big line on the carpet and had to pay for a new carpet. Bad one!

And have your quick release couplings for high pressure hose on the outside of house incise they blow. Another lesson learned.

Simple - Like someone said, just lay down some floor protection, plastic backed dust sheets are simple and cheap but anything is better than nothing. I doubt anything is going to be much help if you spring a leak (unlikely as it is).

Do not have a join in the house!

It's a pain if you're cleaning right up to the back door as you can't shut it as your hose is coming through it

Buy a decent electric machine, if there is an outside tap in the back & power socket you are sorted.
No hose through the house problem simple.
